Willard B. Simmons, Jr. CPL

My family’s involvement in the oil and gas business began with my grandfather in the early 1900’s. My career in the petroleum industry began in 1977. Since 1978, I have owned and operated my own lease brokerage company known as ELM Corporation located in Mobile, Alabama.

As a Charter Member of the Alabama Petroleum Landman’s Association, I have served as President and also served on various association committees. I am a member of our international association, the American Association of Professional Landmen. I have served and held various offices and as President in 1994 – 1995. During the American Association of Professional Landmen’s Annual Meeting in New Orleans, I was presented with the AAPL 1992 Special Award.

I am also an active member of various state and regional landmen associations. I helped coordinate legislative efforts with the US Oil & Gas Association (Mississippi/Alabama Division), the Alabama Petroleum Council and the Independent Petroleum Association of America. I have worked for many years and continue to work with the Alabama Legislature for the passage of various oil and gas related bills.
